Dry hire wedding venues in Cornwall: 5 benefits of blank canvas set ups like Boconnion

If you love having freedom of choice, getting creative and being unique then a dry hire wedding venue is the best option for you. At Boconnion, we celebrate new ideas and personal touches and encourage our couples to put their own spin on the traditional wedding set up. Here, Boconnion’s in-house wedding planner Caroline Griffiths talks through what’s involved in a dry hire wedding venue and the benefits that come with it.

What is a dry hire wedding venue?

Essentially, a dry hire wedding venue is a location that lets you choose all of the planning details and execution yourself. It is undecorated and free from specific suppliers and a dictated running order. From the schedule to the decorations and from the florals to the catering, every decision is made by the couple. This is different to an all inclusive or wet hire venue where you choose a wedding package with pre determined set ups.

Boconnion is a dry hire wedding venue in Cornwall. It’s the perfect blank canvas over which you have total creative control. We work with the very best of talented local suppliers and can make recommendations for whatever style, idea or vision you want to achieve - but the final say is ultimately yours. Your wedding is bespoke to you.

4 benefits of a dry hire wedding venue in Cornwall

1. Less restrictions on numbers

Whilst some venues will have a limited head count, dry hire venues can often be more flexible. At Boconnion, our couples have the freedom to choose where they get married - be it inside in the barn or outside on the lawn. We can welcome over 150 guests for marquee weddings and 45 close family and friends can stay on site in luxury accommodation.

2. You have complete creative control but with expert guidance

Handpicking every aspect of the wedding may feel daunting but, at Boconnion, all couples have the help of in-house wedding planner Caroline Griffiths. Choose from our extensive selection of wedding stylists, florists, cake makers, stationary designers, caterers and bars to design a day that is as unique as you. Boconnion welcomes you to mix and match your suppliers. If you want a floral arch around every entrance, food vans in the evening and a live band on the lawn, let’s make it happen - just tell us your vision.

3. You can break free from tradition

Package wedding days may require you to fit into their time frames and running order - but not at dry hire venues like Boconnion. If you opt for a celebrant ceremony in the grounds you can say ‘I do’ whenever you like. Don’t fancy cutting the cake? Don’t do it. Settle on whatever theme you wish. Have your first dance poolside or sit down for your wedding breakfast as the stars come out. The running order of the day is truly your preference and we’ll be here to make sure it runs smoothly.

4. The whole estate is exclusively yours for the weekend

When you get married at Boconnion, you have complete exclusivity of the estate from Friday afternoon to Sunday, including the grounds, three luxury properties, the manor house, swimming pool, tennis court and barn. With accommodation for 45 guests, you’ll feel as if you, your partner and your wedding party are in your own private bubble. At no point will you feel like the next wedding is waiting in the wings to get going as soon as you are finished.
